The Festival of Trees is an annual holiday festival in Salt Lake City, Utah, that raises funds for Intermountain Healthcare's Primary Children's Hospital. Proceeds from the festival serve the nearly 100,000 patients the hospital treats each year from across the Intermountain West. Since its inception, the festival has raised nearly $40 million for the hospital, highlighting the true power of this event and the generosity of our community.
How It All Began
The Festival of Trees began in the 1970s when the Women's Endowment Committee was challenged to come up with a fundraising event. That first year, they raised $47,000. Five decades later, our mission to make good grow remains the same, but the impact of the event has grown tremendously. In 2019 alone, the Festival raised $2.6 million.
Celebrating 50 Years
This year, despite the challenges, we're proud to continue this beloved holiday tradition as we celebrate its 50th anniversary. The new virtual format incorporates many of the elements of the festival we've all grown to love over the years, but in a way that keeps our community as safe and healthy as possible.
Intermountain Healthcare's Primary Children's Hospital is a not-for-profit, nationally ranked children's hospital providing the highest quality of care to children with complex illnesses and injuries in Utah, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Wyoming and beyond.
